Account Executive – Health Practice

Hager Sharp seeks a health communication professional with experience in a PR agency or similar environment to support several projects within the Health Practice.
The candidate’s primary job responsibilities will include supporting the project manager in the day to day activities of a federally funded childhood obesity behavior change program. As the program continues to expand nationally, the candidate will participate in building and managing partnerships with national, state, and regional organizations; strengthening relationships among existing partners; creating materials to support partners; and providing program technical assistance for partners as needed.
The candidate should also posses demonstrable experience in health media relations, particularly in social media. Responsibilities will include creating comprehensive social media strategies for several projects across the Health Practice; experimenting with new and alternative ways to leverage social media activities; monitoring trends in social media; and actively participating in a wide variety of social media activities. The candidate should also have significant experience in traditional media relations such as media list development; creation of news releases, electronic media kits and other content; pitching and story placement; and development of reports and media coverage analysis
Candidate must have proven writing/editing and verbal communications skills, ability to problem solve and think creatively, highly effective work habits, excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. Must be responsive and deadline focused with strong client service orientation. Needs to be a team player, yet can work well independently. Experience in media, agency or health field preferred. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred. Minimum two years applicable work experience.
